Has anyone actually taken the Timberland Garrison Trail Lows out on anything steeper than a sidewalk stroll? I’m eyeing them for some muddy Midwest singletrack, lured in by that rugged “urban lumberjack” vibe-because apparently, we all need boots that scream “I chop wood on weekends but commute via Uber.”
Pros so far from my pavement pounding: Super comfy out of the box (no blister drama), decent waterproofing in light rain, and the Vibram sole grips like it means business on wet rocks. But let’s be real, folks-those of you swearing by them for multi-day epics, are you secretly padding your soles with inserts, or is the low-cut ankle just begging for a twisted fate on uneven terrain? Weighs in lighter than my old Vasque Talons (about 13oz per boot), but I’m skeptical on long-haul breathability compared to the Moab Ventilators.
Spill the beans: Trail-tested miles? Hot spots? Worth ditching my clunkier mids for these ankle-biters? Pic your war wounds if you’ve got ’em.
