Salomon soles peeling after few runs – defect?

I was at the store yesterday returning my new Salomons after the sole peeled away at the front on just the third muddy run. The clerk mentioned they’d seen a stack of the same pairs come back lately, all with the glue letting go in the same spot. Not sure if it’s the new rubber compound or how they bonded it this time around, but it sure didn’t hold up like the older versions.

man that glue issue sounds exactly like what happened with my old merrells on a rainy weekend hike, sole edge just flapped loose after a couple miles through mud and i had to finish with duct tape wrapped around the toe. never figured out if it was the new sole material or just bad batch but it killed the rest of the trip. wonder if salomon’s running into the same batch problem now.

yeah my north faces did the same last spring on a wet trail, edge peeled after two days and i taped em up to limp home. feels like these new glues are all over the place lately.
