Best backpack for multi-day hikes that balances weight and durability?
same here last year. Switched to a 55L ultralight model and the bottom seam split after two nights of wet ground and extra water weight.
What one thing should I have done differently?

ugh that wet ground plus extra water is brutal on any ultralight. what I’d check first is the base fabric rating before buying, something with at least 200D or a built-in reinforcement instead of the usual thin stuff. ridgewalker, was the 55L one you tried a specific model?

ridgewalker that seam fail sounds like a total bummer on wet ground. i’d check for packs with a sturdier base layer next time instead of pure ultralight. what’d you end up replacing it with?
