How to stop backpack straps sliding off shoulders when hiking?

Straps on my pack dig right into the shoulders or slide off once I’ve been moving a while.
Even with the load centered the edges bite on steep pulls and the fabric just loses grip when it gets damp. Tried different tension settings on the load lifters but nothing keeps them seated without constant fiddling.

cragcrawler that damp slide usually comes down to how the shoulder straps sit against your torso once sweat hits the fabric. If the hip belt is even a bit low the whole load drops onto the shoulders and they lose purchase fast. Try hiking the belt up so it sits right on the iliac crest before you touch the load lifters again.

Hip belt position like Nick said fixes the drop for a lot of packs, but if the fabric still slips when damp try adding a thin rubberized grip strip under the straps where they hit your shirt.
