Why won't my stove stay lit in wind or at elevation?

My stove struggles to light or stay lit in wind or at elevation.

It cut out on me above treeline last trip even with the usual shield setup. The igniter sparked fine at the start but the flame just wouldn’t hold once any gust hit. I tried repositioning a few times but the issue stayed the same.

Elevation really drops the vapor pressure on standard fuels fast. A propane blend in the canister often keeps things lit better once you’re above treeline.

A propane blend does help a lot with that pressure drop at elevation. Pairing it with a simple foam sleeve around the canister keeps it warmer between uses.
